The 2.3% medical device tax on medical technology sales amounts to a multi-billion dollar burden that would impact medical technology jobs and hinder the development of innovative medical devices that are crucial to effective and efficient health care.

In recognition of the medical device tax’s many flaws, bipartisan Members of Congress have worked together to suspend the tax – twice. While the suspension is welcome, it is only temporary and does not allow medical device manufacturers the ability to plan for research and development into the future.

Two new pieces of legislation, S. 692 and H.R. 2207, would permanently repeal this flawed tax and provide lasting protection to American medical device manufacturing and innovation.

IT’S TIME FOR CONGRESS TO PERMANENTLY REPEAL THE MEDICAL DEVICE TAX.

Jobs lost while device tax was in effect.

Additional jobs lost by 2021 if tax is implemented.
